It is important to prepare: Even if it seems tedious - thorough cleaning and inspection of the tile and grout has a decisive effect on the end result!

1 Check before painting the joints
First, the joints must be checked. Cracks and small holes can be repaired with joint white. See Silikonfugen already battered, then it is advisable to remove them. With a sharp knife, the mass can easily cut it out and then rub off. Also helpful is a special silicone remover. If you can not easily unscrew the fittings, they should be carefully masked.

Test prior to application of the primer sealant of joints in a small inconspicuous area with the tile paint. If the joints are repelled the paint not paintable in this form. In that case, unfortunately, the joints must be taped or replaced with überstreichbarem grout.

2 Clean the tile thoroughly

Clean the tiles in the next step. Decisive condition: The substrate must be clean, dry, dust and grease.

This can be achieved by thorough treatment with a soap or vinegar cleaner. In addition, there are special tile cleaner, which act specifically against dirt and grease. Also, alcohol or even a hydrochloric acid-containing medium (caution, corrosive!) Fulfill this purpose.

Some tiles before painting paints require a roughening of the surface of the tiles. The tiles must be roughened evenly.Even better - - sanding fleece, which is available in stores for it is classic or sandpaper is. eg with 240 grit sandpaper.

First coat of primer or paint tiles.

6 Second drying phase

If you have applied the first layer, a further drying phase, at least 12 hours is required.

7 Second painting

After curing of the first layer, the second painting can begin.Mix the appropriate amount again tile paint and wear them on a fresh roll. You will see how well the paint covers very dark tiles, so you will see the latest after the second drying this paint a brilliant result on! Especially the infamous dark tiles need at least three layers of paint application, otherwise shining through the old paint. Even if the tile paint is expensive, you should not skimp here.

8 Hardening of the color tiles
A good and sufficient cure can take up to three days, you should by no means rushed proceed with the next steps.

9 Finishing Touches

After hardening, the valves can be replaced. Now you only need to still grout joints with silicone or white. There are also practical joint tape if you need to update many joints. After the somewhat strange effect that can arise from the same color of tile and grout disappears.
